Used it for first time today works great the instructions were alittle vauge love how it operates
Drove to the warehouse in Pooler, Ga. from Tampa FL. to pick up the lift. A little difficult getting off of the trailer (2200lbs) but managed. Took a few days to assemble but my wife and I got it done. Not bad for a 76 & 68 year old couple. I have to say that the assembly instructions were just about useless. Thank God for YouTube. Love this lift. Heavy duty construction. Also bought the castors and rolling jack. Excellent piece of equipment to work on and store my 74 Vette.
Just picked up my lift last week. In Denver couldn't be more satisfied. I almost have it set up and it looks like it's gonna be a good strong lift. Very good price for this lift.
I used it to replace a frame on a Jeep Wrangler, it was very useful and am happy with it. Would Recommend!
The Katool 4H950 has been a great addition to my garage. It feels solid, lifts my truck smoothly, and gives me the extra space I needed while still fitting well under my ceiling. The Pitstop Pro team was great to work with too, answering my questions and making the whole process easy from start to finish.
The purchase of the Katool 4H950 from the Pitstop Pro website was straightforward and fairly easy. The warehouse paperwork came a few days later. Pickup up was smooth. FYI, you’ll need at least a 16’ trailer. 5-stars
Despite the poorly written assembly manual, after two days of on and off work and watching an untold number of videos, the lift was assembled. 2-stars
In addition, the included hydraulic hose fitting was the wrong size. After numerous ticket submissions and conversations with Katool customer support, the correct part arrived–three weeks later. The lift now works properly. 3-stars
Be aware that the 4H950 has two width positions for the runway. The jacktray and the drip trays do not fit the wider position. This was not clearly noted on the website at the time of my purchase. 2-stars
Would I purchase a Katool lift again? It appears to be a decent quality consumer-level lift. With my warranty expectations set lower, yes I would consider Katool from Pitstop Pro again. 3-stars
Well made and very heavy duty. Crew at pickup facility was top notch. Watched You Tube videos to help with assembly. Looking forward to using it.
This is my first 4-post lift, and overall, I am very pleased with the purchase. The unit is solidly built, and the welds appear high-quality and clean. Just a heads-up for DIYers: this thing is incredibly heavy. You will definitely need a few friends to help with the assembly.
Crucial Tip: Do not rely on the printed instructions included in the box. They are vague and will leave you with more questions than answers. Download the digital version from the website instead; it is much more comprehensive.
Power Note: I purchased the 110v motor, which is rated at 28 amps but can spike up to 40 amps on startup. If I were to do it again, I would spend the extra money for the 220v version to avoid the high amperage draw. Aside from the power spike, it works great!
Just received my KY4H110 the other day and spent the day setting it up. It all went well and it is a very nice lift. It lifts my Ram truck easily.
The KT-4H110 lift packaging was impressive. Having curved steel feet as part of the shipping structure made it easy to load onto my trailer. The unit was unloaded using a tractor with forks and the rails were installed end-wise into my shop using a track hoe. Primary assembly was completed on day one, cables on day two, and final adjustments and testing on day three. This is one heavy-duty lift! The printed instructions, however, really need to be re-written, with better descriptions and pictures. Also, I suggest that either you provide a tips and tricks explanations where needed or explicit details about certain assembly steps (ie. insertion of safety ladder into latching mechanism, installation of cables by removing pulley axles, adjustment of cable tensions with respect to latching arm positions, etc.). After laying out three bags of hardware, I was able to figure out where most items were to be used, even though there were a few pieces left over. To be fair, I would rate the product itself as a 5, but due to poor assembly documentation I gave this a 4. Overall, to anyone who reads this review, I would absolutely recommend this lift for at least three reasons. 1) packaging, 2) precision engineering, 3) quality of materials and finish.
Great lift, sturdy and heavy duty. Pitstop pro were more than helpful when I needed support during installation. You’re basically getting a good product for a great price and amazing customer service. Highly recommended for your purchase, couldn’t ask for more. Thank you
Have had the lift for only 1-2 weeks at this point but have had no issues. Instructions are not the best but pictures are helpful. Only took 3 inexperienced individuals about 4 hours to completely unpack and install.
This is overkill for my application, but I got this model because of the spacing of the posts.
- vague instructions with the lift. A better pdf version is available from KaTool
- REALLY heavy. You have to pick up at trucking terminal and you'll need something to unload your trailer even if you disassemble the packaging.
- you can assemble this solo by cribbing up the trays to the post cross beams.
- Pleasantly surprised that bolt holes lined up easily
Love my lift. was not as hard to assembly as some say. went together very nice. easy transaction from ordering to picking up at the warehouse. very much worth the money. makes life so much easier.
I can write a book on this whole experience from the lift research to actual final installation. Pitstop Pro's was absolutely the most helpful with questions up front and during the purchase process. I even had a special request to delay shipment to a certain day and that was pre-arranged. They have the best price, best customer service and truly are an advocate to help you through the whole process. The lift itself is a 10 out of 10 it certainly went far beyond in the heavy-duty department. Don't let this lift fool you since the runners come in two pieces. It's a very solid lift and I would compare to my Bend Pack I had before. This is just must simpler and has a better lift locking system and no air compressor is needed to release the locks. The only downside is with the instructions; they hide it in the motor box. It was the wrong instructions anyway. I found a PDF online that was all pictures, no words. If your mechanically savvy, you will get it together.
Works well - a bit of a challenge to put it together but got it done! Very happy with my purchase.
The lift is great and seems well built. I shopped around before purchasing this one. I was lucky there was a Wharehouse in Denver to save on freight and lessen risk of damage. Instructions are not great but it’s basic mechanical assembly common sense. I’m very pleased with my decision.
Hunter an the guys at pitstop pro was awesome to work with honest an reliable great product
This is a good sturdy lift. Very well priced compared to the ones like it. Pickup was pretty easy. I used a 16-ft utility trailer. You definitely couldn't use anything shorter to pick it up. Everything you read says you'll need a forklift to unload it at your house. Although, that would have been easier, I unpacked it straight off the trailer and managed with an engine hoist for the large pieces. Not five stars because the assembly instructions were extremely lacking.
Not difficult to put together if you watch a youtube video. Installation instructions manual not very well written, border line useless. Lift works great once put together. I would recommend to my friends and would purchase again. Great value.
