About Tuxedo · Authorized Dealer

The most complete shop-equipment lineup in our value tier

Tuxedo Distributors LLC is an American-owned, Texas-based shop-equipment company that designs and supports a wide lineup of automotive lifts and bay equipment. Tuxedo engineers the lineup in the U.S. and stocks parts, warranty service, and technical support out of its U.S. warehouses; manufacturing happens overseas to Tuxedo's spec. That structure is how the lifts land at a value-tier price point with U.S.-based aftermarket backing.

What makes Tuxedo the most complete shop lineup in our value-tier catalog isn't just lifts - it's the breadth. Two-post lifts in five different geometries (asymmetric, symmetric, clear-floor, floor-plate, direct-drive) from 9,000 to 15,000 lb. Four-post storage and commercial lifts from 8,000 to 14,000 lb, including the popular FP8K-DX with caster, drip-tray, and jack-tray accessories standard. Plus a 6,000 lb single-post storage lift (SP-6K-SS), a 1,000 lb motorcycle lift (M-1000C), three rolling bridge jacks (RJ-45, RAJ-8K-H, RAJ-8K-L), and even a heavy-duty truck tire changer (TC-770-T) - all from one brand.

Construction-wise: heavy-gauge steel columns with durable powder-coat finishes, single-point safety lock equalization, dual-point lock releases on most 2-posts, chain-driven 4-posts on the commercial FP14K, three-stage arms on the bi-symmetric TP11KC-DX, and chrome-clad hydraulic cylinders. Most models run on standard 220V single-phase power.

Tuxedo Lift FAQs

The most common questions our lift specialists get about Tuxedo Distributors.

Are Tuxedo lifts any good?

Yes - Tuxedo is one of our top recommendations in the value-tier lift segment, particularly for shops that want a complete equipment lineup from one brand. Build quality includes heavy-gauge welded steel columns, single-point safety lock equalization, dual-point lock releases on most 2-posts, chrome-clad hydraulic cylinders, and chain-driven or direct-drive lifting mechanisms depending on the model. The 5-year structural manufacturer warranty is competitive with other value-tier brands.

The biggest reason we recommend Tuxedo: lineup completeness. Two-post lifts in five geometries (asymmetric, symmetric, clear-floor, floor-plate, direct-drive) plus 4-post, single-post, motorcycle, rolling jacks, and even a heavy-duty truck tire changer - all from one brand. Read our full honest Tuxedo review.

Where are Tuxedo lifts made?

Tuxedo Distributors LLC is an American-owned, Texas-based shop-equipment company that designs the lineup and stocks parts and support in the U.S. Manufacturing of the lifts themselves happens overseas (primarily Asia) at Tuxedo's contract production facilities - the same model used by most value-tier lift brands sold in North America.

This split - U.S. engineering and aftermarket support plus overseas manufacturing - is how Tuxedo delivers a complete shop lineup at value-tier pricing. For more on the manufacturing question, see our guide: Imported vs. USA-Made Lifts. If made-in-USA is a hard requirement for your shop, look at our Atlas Automotive, iDEAL, or Launch collections.

Who makes Tuxedo lifts?

Tuxedo lifts are designed, distributed, warranted, and supported by Tuxedo Distributors LLC, an American-owned company based in Texas. The company has been in the automotive-equipment distribution business for over 20 years and supplies independent shops, dealerships, and home-garage buyers across the U.S. The lifts are assembled at Tuxedo-spec'd contract manufacturing facilities overseas. Warranty, parts, and technical support are handled by the Tuxedo team in the U.S.

Tuxedo 4-post lift reviews: how do they hold up?

The most common feedback we hear on Tuxedo 4-post lifts (FP8K-B, FP8K-DX, FP8K-DX-XLT, FP9K-DX-XLT, FP12K-K, FP14K) is that the FP8K-DX and FP9K-DX-XLT in particular hit a noticeably better all-inclusive value than competitors at the same price point - because they ship with the poly casters, drip trays, and jack tray included rather than as extra-cost add-ons. Locks engage audibly, runways grip tires reliably, and hydraulics are smooth.

Honest critiques: assembly takes longer than the manual suggests (plan a full day with a helper), and the included caster kit makes the lift "portable" but moving an assembled 4-post is still a 2-person job. The commercial FP14K is chain-driven and runs noticeably quieter than cable-driven competitors at the same capacity. For full assembly notes and long-term ownership impressions, see our honest Tuxedo lift review.

Tuxedo 2-post lift reviews: what's the verdict?

Across the Tuxedo 2-post lineup (TP9KAC-TUX, TP9KF-TUX, TP9KFX, TP9KSCX, TP9KACX, TP11KC-DX, TP12KC-D, TP12KFX, TP15KCX), common feedback themes are: solid column construction with no flex under load, smooth hydraulic operation, reliable lock engagement on both single-point and dual-point lock systems, and the variety of geometries (asymmetric, symmetric, clear-floor, floor-plate, direct-drive) lets shops pick the right arm geometry for their vehicle mix.

Note before you buy: most Tuxedo 2-posts need 11-12 ft of ceiling clearance for full lift height. The clear-floor models (TP9KSCX, TP9KACX, TP11KC-DX, TP15KCX) need slightly more (typically 12-14 ft) because the overhead bar adds height. Always measure before ordering. Read the full Tuxedo 2-post breakdown.

What's the warranty on a Tuxedo lift?

Every Tuxedo lift sold by Pitstop Pro comes with the full manufacturer warranty: 5 years structural (frame, columns, load-bearing components) and 1 year parts (hydraulics, electrical, cables, wear components). We're an authorized Tuxedo dealer, so you get the actual factory coverage - not a watered-down third-party version.

You also get our lifetime phone support at (470) 208-2754 for install help, troubleshooting, or parts questions, regardless of how long you've owned the lift.

How does Tuxedo compare to Katool, AMGO, Triumph, or BendPak?

Five positions in the lift market: Tuxedo is the most complete value-tier shop lineup - lifts plus bay equipment (motorcycle lift, rolling jacks, truck tire changer) from one brand, 5-year structural warranty, U.S.-owned and Texas-based. Katool hits the lowest price-per-feature ratio with a focused 2-post and 4-post lineup and a 3-year structural warranty. AMGO is the deepest commercial catalog with ALI ETL Certified models, longest warranty (5/2/1), and the widest capacity range up to 40,000 lb. Triumph offers the broadest variety of lift styles at value pricing with a 1-year warranty. BendPak/Rotary sit at the premium tier with ALI certification, multi-year warranties, and longer brand heritage.

What size Tuxedo lift do I need?

Take the curb weight of your heaviest vehicle and add a 25% safety margin. 2-post: TP9KAC-TUX (9,000 lb asymmetric) for cars and light trucks. TP9KFX, TP9KSCX, or TP9KACX (9,000 lb in different geometries) for slightly different shop layouts. TP11KC-DX (11,000 lb bi-symmetric direct-drive) for most full-size trucks and SUVs. TP12KC-D or TP12KFX (12,000 lb) for half-ton and 3/4-ton trucks. TP15KCX (15,000 lb) for 1-ton trucks and fleet duty.

4-post: FP8K-B (8,000 lb basic) for storage on a budget. FP8K-DX (8,000 lb Deluxe with accessories) for cars and light trucks. FP9K-DX-XLT (9,000 lb extended) for full-size trucks. FP12K-K (12,000 lb) for heavier service work. FP14K (14,000 lb commercial chain-driven) for shop and fleet duty.

What ceiling height do I need for a Tuxedo lift?

Most Tuxedo floor-plate 2-posts (TP9KF-TUX, TP9KFX, TP12KFX) need 11-12 ft of ceiling clearance for full lift height because the cable equalization runs through a low floor plate. Clear-floor models (TP9KSCX, TP9KACX, TP11KC-DX, TP15KCX) need 12-14 ft because the overhead bar adds height to the lift envelope. Tuxedo 4-posts vary from roughly 7-9 ft tall in their own footprint, but you also need vehicle height plus lift height plus walking clearance underneath.

Always measure the tallest vehicle you'll lift and add 6-12 inches of working clearance on top of the lift's full-up height. See our low-ceiling lift guide if your space is tight.

Can I install a Tuxedo lift myself?

Yes - many of our customers do. The work is straightforward but heavy. Plan on at least one capable helper, an engine hoist or forklift to stand the columns, and a torque wrench for the anchor bolts. Concrete and electrical work are best hired out separately. Tuxedo 4-posts (the FP8K-DX, FP9K-DX-XLT) are easier than 2-posts because they don't require concrete anchoring (the included caster kit lets you position freestanding). 2-post Tuxedo lifts must be anchored into 4-6 inches of reinforced concrete depending on capacity - the manual specifies the exact spec per model.

Don't want to install it yourself? Submit your address and we'll send you a list of qualified local Tuxedo installers within one business day.

Do you stock Tuxedo replacement parts?

Yes - we keep Tuxedo replacement parts (hydraulic seal kits, safety lock pins, equalization cables, control valves, motors, arm pads, runway accessories, and lift extensions) stocked in our U.S. warehouses, and Tuxedo's U.S. warehouses stock the deeper parts catalog. When something needs replacing, you call (470) 208-2754 and we either ship from our domestic inventory or coordinate directly with Tuxedo - no waiting weeks for a container from overseas.

Does Tuxedo make a motorcycle lift?

Yes - the Tuxedo M-1000C is a 1,000 lb motorcycle and ATV lift with a drop panel for rear-wheel service and a front wheel vise (M-Vise) for stable mounting. Optional accessories include the M-Jack cycle jack, M-FrontExt front extensions, M-SideExt side extensions, and the M-1000C is one of the few motorcycle lifts we sell that comes from a full automotive-lift brand rather than a motorcycle-only specialist.
