A refrigerant identifier is a sensor that detects whether the refrigerant in a vehicle has been contaminated with a different gas type, sealant additive, or hydrocarbon blend before you connect your machine. Three Bludee models offer optional built-in identifier as a variant upgrade: AC400D, AC600, and AC900.

Why it matters: contaminated refrigerant entering your AC machine ruins the recovery pump, compresses the refrigerant tank, and contaminates the next vehicle. Damage from contamination costs $500-$2,000 to repair. The identifier upgrade is typically $500.

For shops servicing unknown-history used vehicles, the identifier pays for itself the first time it catches a contaminated system. For shops servicing only known-history customer cars, the upgrade is optional.

Yes. Every Bludee AC machine in our catalog meets EPA Section 609 equipment requirements and the SAE J2788 industry purity standard. The machine itself is compliant. The federal Clean Air Act Section 609 also requires the operator to be EPA Section 609 certified (a one-time $20-30 test).

Every AC machine sold by Pitstop Pro is EPA-compliant equipment. The operator certification is separate and required for commercial AC service.

Most in-stock Bludee machines ship within 2-5 business days from our Georgia warehouses with free U.S. shipping included. Freight transit time depends on distance, usually 3-7 business days to the contiguous US. Total order-to-doorstep is typically 1-2 weeks.

Bludee carries a 2-year parts and labor warranty on most AC400, AC600, AC800, AC900, and AC400D series machines, including the touchscreen and refrigerant scale. Extended warranty options are available at order time.

All warranties are direct from the manufacturer. Pitstop Pro handles warranty claims as the authorized dealer, so you do not need to contact Bludee support directly if something needs service.
