A Real Two Post Lift for a Standard Garage: the Daytona LTPF9 9,000 lb Floorplate Lift

The usual advice for a garage with a nine or ten foot ceiling is to forget a two post lift and buy a scissor. That advice costs you the thing you actually wanted, which is standing up under the car with the wheels hanging free and full access to the suspension, exhaust, and brakes. A mid-rise scissor sits under the vehicle and blocks half of it.

The Daytona LTPF9 stands 110.0" overall. That is 9'-2", which fits under a standard nine and a half foot residential garage ceiling with room to spare. It is a genuine two post lift with 9,000 lbs of capacity, 74.8" of lifting height, and 98.9" of drive-thru clearance. The equalization runs through a 0.6" floor plate rather than an overhead beam, which is exactly how it gets that low.

It uses chain over hydraulic cylinders with automatic safety locks and single-point lock release, high-polymer polyethylene slide blocks in the columns, and a height limit switch. Three-stage front arms reach 22.8" to 41.3", rear arms 32.7" to 51.9", and truck adapters, screw-up pads, and rubber door guards all ship in the crate. It runs on 240V single phase at 3 HP and 13 amps, and the whole thing weighs 1,360 lbs across two pallets.

Measure your ceiling and your slab, then call us. Those two numbers decide everything. If you need more capacity at a similar height, the 12,000 lb LTPF12 floorplate stands 114.0". If you have 12 feet of ceiling, the overhead LTPA10 and ALI certified BR10-2OH-33 keep the floor clear. Or compare every 2 post car lift and the full Daytona lineup.

Daytona LTPF9 9,000 lb two post floorplate lift

Benefits of the Daytona LTPF9

110.0" tall, the lowest in the range
Nine foot two inches. This is the Daytona two post that fits a standard residential garage, and it is four inches shorter than even the 12,000 lb floorplate model.
A real two post, not a scissor
Wheels hang free and the entire underside is open. Suspension, exhaust, brakes, and driveline all accessible, which is the whole reason to want a lift instead of jack stands.
74.8" of lift height
Same maximum pad height as the 12,000 lb models. The lower overall height comes from losing the overhead beam, not from giving up how far the vehicle goes up.
4.5" minimum pad height
Low enough for sports cars and mildly lowered vehicles, with short arms reaching down to 22.8" for tight wheelbases.
Lightest lift Daytona builds
1,360 lbs total across two pallets. Meaningfully easier to unload and position than the 2,200 to 2,900 lb crates the bigger models arrive in.
Ships complete on 240V single phase
Truck adapters, screw-up pads, and rubber door guards included. 3 HP at 13 amps on a dedicated 240V circuit, no three-phase and no converter.

Key Features of the Daytona LTPF9 9k Floorplate Lift

• 110.0" overall height: The defining spec and the reason this lift exists. A 0.6" floor plate carries the equalization instead of an overhead beam, which drops the whole structure to 9'-2" and puts a real two post lift inside a standard garage.

• 9,000 lb lifting capacity: Covers every passenger car, crossover, SUV, minivan, and half-ton pickup. Lifting range runs 4.5" to 74.8", so low cars load easily and tall technicians still stand up underneath.

• Chain over hydraulic cylinders: A proven, serviceable equalization arrangement where the chain is a scheduled maintenance item rather than a wear surprise. High-polymer polyethylene slide blocks carry the carriage inside the 11.2" columns.

• Automatic safety locks, single-point release: Locks engage automatically through the travel and release from one handle. A height limit switch and rubber door guards complete the package.

• Asymmetric three-stage arms: Short front arms reach 22.8" to 41.3" and long rear arms 32.7" to 51.9", which is what lets a driver open the door properly once the car is in the air.

• Compact 131.2" footprint: Overall width is 131.2" at the floor with 110.5" between the columns and 98.9" of drive-thru clearance. Base plates measure 14.8" by 16.9".

The slab must be level within 3/8" across the installation area, with no anchor placed within 6" of a crack, edge, or expansion joint. Daytona LTPF9 Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit in my home garage?

On ceiling height, very likely. At 110.0" the lift needs about 9'-6", and most modern residential garages are built at 9 or 10 feet. Measure to the lowest obstruction, which is usually the garage door track or opener rather than the ceiling itself. The bigger question is your slab. Daytona's concrete figures for this lift differ, so check your slab against them before anything else.

Why is it shorter than the 12,000 lb floorplate?

Smaller capacity means shorter columns. The LTPF9 is 110.0" against 114.0" for the LTPF12, and both reach the same 74.8" of lifting height. If 9,000 lbs covers your work, this one saves you four inches of ceiling and about 900 lbs of freight.

Is 9,000 lbs enough?

For cars, crossovers, SUVs, minivans, and half-ton pickups, comfortably. A loaded F-150 crew cab sits around 5,500 lbs. Where 9,000 gets tight is three-quarter and one-ton diesels, which can curb at 7,000 to 8,600 lbs before you add anything. If those are regular work, step up to a 10,000 or 12,000 lb model.

What is the downside of a floorplate design?

The plate itself. It sits 0.6" proud of the floor between the columns, and creepers, drain pans, and jacks roll over it. It also collects dirt. In exchange the lift is 30 inches shorter than an overhead model, which for a lot of buyers is the difference between owning a two post lift and not.

What concrete does it need?

Daytona's documents differ on this lift's concrete (manual floor section: 4" of steel-reinforced 3,500 PSI concrete cured 28 days; manual installation section: C30 foundations deeper than 800 mm; Daytona product FAQ: "4-6 inches" at 3,000-4,000 PSI), so confirm with Daytona before ordering. The slab must be cured and level within 3/8" across the installation area, with no anchor placed within 6" of a crack, edge, or expansion joint. Check this before the ceiling. If your slab does not qualify, a pad can be poured. Verifying concrete is the customer's responsibility, and installing on an inadequate slab is genuinely dangerous.

Do I need three phase power?

No. 240V single phase, 3 HP, 13 amps, 60Hz on a dedicated circuit. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit and breaker sizing before the installer arrives.

How does delivery work?

The LTPF9 ships as freight in two pieces: the lift at 114" x 18" x 30" and 1,300 lbs, and the power unit at 31" x 12" x 11" and 60 lbs. At 1,360 lbs total this is the lightest lift Daytona makes, which makes it the most manageable to receive. Curbside freight delivery and warehouse pickup are both available.

What is the warranty?

Five years structural, two years on power units, cylinders, and seal kits, and one year on all other defective parts. Daytona has served shops in the United States and Canada since 1999 and stocks parts in regional warehouses.

Benefits of the Daytona LTPF9

110.0" tall, the lowest in the range Nine foot two inches. This is the Daytona two post that fits a standard residential garage, and it is four inches shorter than even the 12,000 lb floorplate model. A real two post, not a scissor Wheels hang free and the entire underside is open. Suspension, exhaust, brakes, and driveline all accessible, which is the whole reason to want a lift instead of jack stands. 74.8" of lift height Same maximum pad height as the 12,000 lb models. The lower overall height comes from losing the overhead beam, not from giving up how far the vehicle goes up. 4.5" minimum pad height Low enough for sports cars and mildly lowered vehicles, with short arms reaching down to 22.8" for tight wheelbases. Lightest lift Daytona builds 1,360 lbs total across two pallets. Meaningfully easier to unload and position than the 2,200 to 2,900 lb crates the bigger models arrive in. Ships complete on 240V single phase Truck adapters, screw-up pads, and rubber door guards included.

*Daytona's documents differ on this lift's concrete (manual floor section: 4" of steel-reinforced 3,500 PSI concrete cured 28 days; manual installation section: C30 foundations deeper than 800 mm; Daytona product FAQ: "4-6 inches" at 3,000-4,000 PSI), so confirm with Daytona before ordering. The slab must be level within 3/8" across the installation area, with no anchor placed within 6" of a crack, edge, or expansion joint. Many residential garage slabs are poured at 4", which may not meet the stricter figures, so confirm your slab before ordering even though the lift itself fits the ceiling. Installing on inadequate concrete may result in serious injury or death. It is the customer's responsibility to verify concrete thickness and strength prior to purchase and installation.
