Can I work on a car with this lift?
No, and that is the most important thing to understand about it. This is a parking and storage lift, not a service lift. The vehicle sits on a solid platform, so the wheels are supported and the underside is not accessible the way it is on a two post service lift. If you want to work under a car, look at the LTPF9 or LTPA10 instead.
How much ceiling do I need for two cars?
Start with the lift itself. It stands 170.1", which is 14'-2", so 14 feet is not enough for the lift on its own and 14'-6" is the practical minimum no matter what you plan to park. From there the real math is the two vehicles: add the height of the car parked underneath, the platform thickness, and the height of the car on top, and that total has to clear your ceiling as well. What does shared post actually mean?
If you install several LTPP6 units side by side in a row, adjacent units share a middle column rather than each having two of their own.
