Reach trucks: high-bay narrow-aisle warehouse specialists

Reach Trucks is Pitstop Pro's dedicated reach truck catalog. 6 Ekko reach trucks split across stand-up rider (operator stands) and walkie (operator walks alongside) configurations. Capacities from 3,300 lb walkie entry through 4,000 lb stand-up rider flagship. Lift heights from 138" up to 275" (22.9 ft) for the tallest warehouse racking.

Reach trucks are the high-bay warehouse specialists. Extending mast reaches into deep racking (something sit-down forklifts can't do), and narrow-aisle turning radius (typically 6-8 ft) fits warehouses where sit-down forklifts don't work. Perfect for retail distribution centers, e-commerce fulfillment, and any warehouse with racking above 15 ft.

Need lower lift heights or higher capacity? See Forklifts for sit-down riders up to 10,000 lb. Prefer walkie stackers for shorter racking? See Straddle Stackers.

Why buy a reach truck

Four reasons reach trucks beat sit-down forklifts for high-bay warehouses.

REACH

Extending mast reach

Reach trucks extend mast to place pallets deep in racking. Sit-down forklifts can only place at rack face. Doubles storage density.

AISLE

6-8 ft narrow aisles

Reach trucks turn in aisles as narrow as 6-8 ft (vs. 12+ ft for sit-down forklifts). Doubles warehouse pallet position count in same footprint.

HGT

275" (22.9 ft) reach

Ekko reach trucks lift up to 275" (22.9 ft). Handles tall high-bay racking common in modern distribution centers.

Li

Li-Ion available

Most Ekko reach trucks offer Li-Ion battery upgrade. Opportunity charging, 2-3x longer life, zero maintenance vs. lead-acid.

AISLE
SPACE

Reach trucks require dedicated narrow-aisle warehouse layout

Reach trucks work best in warehouses designed for narrow-aisle operation: 6-8 ft aisles, deep racking (typically 42"+ deep), and reinforced concrete floor. Retrofitting an existing wide-aisle warehouse to narrow-aisle can double storage density but requires racking rearrangement. Call (470) 208-2754 for warehouse layout consultation.

Reach truck FAQs

Common questions on warehouse reach trucks.

Reach truck vs. sit-down forklift?

Reach trucks: narrow-aisle (6-8 ft), extending mast for deep rack placement, up to 275" lift, lower capacity (3,300-4,000 lb). Sit-down forklifts: wide-aisle (12+ ft), forks at rack face only, up to 216" lift typically, higher capacity (up to 10,000 lb).

Walkie vs. stand-up reach truck?

Walkie: operator walks alongside, 3,300 lb capacity, lower price ($23,999-$26,999). Stand-up: operator stands on platform, 4,000 lb capacity, higher lift heights (up to 275"), higher price ($46,199-$50,399).

What lift height do I need?

Match to your tallest racking. Standard warehouse: 138"-196" (11.5-16.3 ft). High-bay distribution centers: 216"-275" (18-22.9 ft). Always order lift height 6-12" above your tallest rack level for clearance.

What's a moving mast?

Moving mast reach trucks have a mast that shifts forward/backward on the base for precision placement. Better for tall picks where alignment matters. ER15-MM is the moving mast variant.

Do reach trucks need OSHA certification?

Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 requires powered industrial truck training. Reach trucks are typically classified as Class II electric motor narrow aisle trucks. Employer-provided training required.

Aisle width requirements?

Walkie reach trucks: 6 ft minimum aisle. Stand-up reach trucks: 7-8 ft aisle. Compare to sit-down forklifts needing 12+ ft. Reach trucks double warehouse density in the same footprint.

Battery: Li-Ion or lead-acid?

Lead-acid: lower up-front cost, 8-hour dedicated charging, watering required. Li-Ion: higher up-front, opportunity charging, 2-3x longer life, zero maintenance. Pays back in 2-4 years for multi-shift ops.

How does delivery work?

All reach trucks ship LTL freight with liftgate service. Free U.S. shipping. Larger stand-up units may require truck-with-forklift delivery. Typical delivery 7-15 business days.

What warranty is included?

Standard Ekko manufacturer warranty. Typically 1-2 years on frame/structural, 6-12 months on electrical. Li-Ion battery packs carry separate 3-5 year battery warranties.

Can I finance a reach truck?

Yes. Financing options available for commercial reach truck purchases through third-party lenders. $25K+ orders often qualify for extended payment plans. Call (470) 208-2754 or request a quote.
