Get a Low Car Onto Corner Scales Without a Fight

A set of racing scales is about two and a half inches thick. On a race car with an inch of ground clearance that is a wall, and the usual answer is jacking all four corners and lowering onto the pads, which takes longer than the weighing does.

Scale Ramps give the car 2.5" of lift so it drives onto the pads instead. Race Ramps make them in two forms and the choice is entirely about how low the car sits.

The Set of 4 is four 14" long ramps at 8.7 degrees, one per wheel, at 1 lb each. The Set of 2 is two 30" long ramps at 7.8 degrees with a 12.5" platform, at 3 lbs each.

Both are 12" wide, rated 1,500 lbs per ramp, for tires up to 10". Working on setup as well as weight? See the Slip Plate Stands and Wheel Stands.

Race Ramps RR-SCALE racing scale ramps, set of four

Benefits of the Scale Ramps

Drive on instead of jacking on
Four corners jacked and lowered is fifteen minutes and a chance to disturb the setup you are trying to measure. Driving on takes seconds and leaves the suspension where it was.
Two answers for two ride heights
The short set at 8.7 degrees suits most cars and packs to nothing. The long set at 7.8 degrees over 30 inches is for the car that will not clear anything, and it has a 12.5 inch platform to settle on.
One pound each
The set of four weighs four pounds total. It goes in the trailer with the scales themselves and you will never decide to leave it at home to save space.
Nothing that dents a scale pad
Corner scales are precision instruments and expensive ones. Foam against the pad edge cannot chip or gouge it the way a steel or wooden ramp will over a season.
1,500 lbs per ramp
The same rating as ramps twenty times the size. A one pound wedge carrying a corner of a race car is exactly what the Race Ramps foam process was developed to do.
Stays put on a shop floor
A one pound ramp that skids away as the tire touches it would be useless. The traction coating holds it on epoxy and sealed concrete. Made in the USA with a one year warranty.

Scale Ramp Frequently Asked Questions

Set of four or set of two?

The set of four covers all four wheels with short 14 inch ramps and is the usual choice. The set of two is a longer, shallower ramp for a car that will not clear 8.7 degrees. If you need the gentle angle on all four corners, order two sets of two.

Do the scales come with these?

No. These are the ramps only. They exist to get the car up onto racing scale pads you already own, and they work with any standard corner scale set.

Do the ramps affect the reading?

They should not, because you drive over them and off, leaving the car sitting on the scale pads alone. Pull the ramps clear before you take the numbers, and make sure all four pads are level with each other.

Will 2.5 inches clear my scales?

Most corner scale pads sit around 2.5 inches thick, which is what these are sized for. Measure your pads before ordering. If yours are taller, tell us the number and we will work out what gets you up there.

Can I use them for anything else?

Anywhere you need to get a very low car over a small lip, such as a driveway edge or a garage threshold. They are not service ramps though, since 2.5 inches gives no working room underneath.
