The Ramp Race Ramps Built Their Name On

Eight inches of lift is the honest working number for a home garage. It gets a creeper and your shoulders under the front of the car, which four inches does not, without needing the fifteen feet of run a lift ramp wants.

The 56" Race Ramps reach it at a 10.8 degree approach, the angle Race Ramps designate for low profile and lowered cars. This is the original, and it is still the one most people should buy first.

Each ramp is 56" long by 12" wide, 10" tall overall with 8" of lift to the deck and a raised stop at the back. Rated 1,500 lbs each, weighing 10 lbs, for tires up to 10" wide.

Choose one piece or two piece, sold as a pair. Wider tires or more lift means the 67" XT. If the car still scrapes, add XTenders to drop the approach to 6.6 degrees. See all low profile car ramps.

Benefits of the 56 Inch Race Ramps

Eight inches is real working room
Enough for an oil change, an exhaust job, or a proper look at the underbody. Four inch ramps get a jack under a car. This one lets you work.
10.8 degrees, built for low cars
Nearly five feet of ramp for eight inches of rise. Steel ramps at this height are typically twice as steep, which is exactly why a lowered car cannot use them.
10 lbs a ramp
The lightest 8 inch ramp you will find at a 1,500 lb rating. You carry both in one trip and stand them on end in a corner rather than leaving them where you will trip over them.
A stop at the top
The block is 10 inches tall against 8 inches of deck, so the extra two inches is a lip the tire meets. You feel the car stop rather than guessing when to brake.
The two piece clears the side
Once the car is parked on the top block, the incline section lifts away and takes nearly four feet of ramp out of your way. Worth it if you work at the front corners rather than straight underneath.
Grips, and leaves no mark
Traction coated foam holds on epoxy and sealed concrete instead of skating forward as the tire loads it, and there is no steel to rust a ring into the floor. Made in the USA with a one year warranty.

56 Inch Race Ramps Frequently Asked Questions

Should I buy these or the 67 inch XT?

Same 10.8 degree approach on both. The XT gives 10 inches of lift on a 14 inch wide deck for tires up to 12 inches, and costs more. These give 8 inches on a 12 inch deck for tires up to 10 inches. If your tires are under 10 inches wide and 8 inches of clearance is enough, save the money.

My car still will not climb them. What now?

Add XTenders. The 12 inch wide version is made for these ramps and pulls the combined approach down to 6.6 degrees, which is gentler than anything else Race Ramps sell. It is far cheaper than replacing the ramps.

Do I need the two piece?

Only if you want the incline out of the way once the car is up. Lift height, angle, and capacity are identical. Most people working directly under the car are fine with the one piece.

Can I put two ramps on the same side?

No. Race Ramps are explicit: never use two ramps on the same side of the vehicle. One per side across an axle, on a flat and level floor, with each ramp in full contact with the ground.

Can I get under the car on these?

Eight inches gives real room and each ramp is rated 1,500 lbs. As with any ramp, chock the wheels still on the ground, leave it in park with the parking brake set, and use stands as well if you are going fully underneath for a long job.
