Race Ramps Lightweight Trailer Step, 8 Inch High
A Bench You Can Also Stand On: the Race Ramps 8" Trailer Step
The step into a trailer gets used more times in a race weekend than anything else you own, and most people are still doing it off a milk crate or a folding aluminum step that flexes and slides on a painted deck.
This is a long, low platform, 11.25" deep and 8" high, in 30" or 35.5" widths. Solid expanded foam with a traction coating, rated to 1,500 lbs, with nothing that hinges, folds or flexes underfoot.
The length is the point. It gives you somewhere to put both feet, or to sit while you change into your gear, or to set a toolbox down at working height. Race Ramps describes it as a step, an extra boost while washing and detailing, and a handy bench while you service your car, which is exactly how these get used.
Sold individually, with a carry strap. If you need more height than 8", the 24" step stands 11" tall. See all trailer steps.

Benefits of the 8" Trailer Step
Choosing Your Width
Both widths are 8" high and 11.25" deep, rated to 1,500 lbs, with a carry strap. Only the length changes.
• 30" wide, RR-TR-SP-30: 10 lbs. The standard choice for a side door. Long enough for two feet with room to spare, and the easier of the two to stow.
• 35.5" wide, RR-TR-SP-36: 12 lbs. Nearly six inches more landing. Worth it if two people work out of the same door, if you want to use it as a bench, or if you are stepping down onto uneven ground where a longer base helps.
There is very little price difference between them. If storage space is not tight, take the longer one.

Trailer Step Frequently Asked Questions
Which width, and how does this compare to the 24 inch?
The 30 and 35.5 inch steps here are both 8 inches high and 11.25 inches deep, so they are long low benches. The 24 inch step is a different shape entirely, 11 inches high and 16 inches deep, which suits a taller deck. Measure your door height first.
Will it hold on gravel or grass?
Better than a folding metal step. A base 30 inches or more long spreads the load rather than concentrating it on four small feet, so it does not sink or rock in a soft paddock.
Can I sit on it?
Yes, and Race Ramps say so themselves. At 1,500 lbs of capacity and 8 inches high it makes a low bench for changing footwear, working on wheels, or setting a toolbox down beside the car.
Is foam strong enough to stand on?
It is rated to 1,500 lbs, roughly seven adults, and it is the same solid high density foam Race Ramps uses in ramps that carry cars. It does not compress underfoot, which is what makes it feel more solid than a folding step.
Does it come as a pair?
Sold individually. Most trailers need one at the side door. Order two if you want one at each door, or one for the trailer and one to keep in the shop.
