Four Inches of Lift From a 46 Inch Ramp

A tilt deck or a low trailer does not need much help. What it needs is a little extra rise at the lip so the splitter clears, without a ramp so long you cannot store it.

The RR-TR-4 is the shortest ramp in the Race Ramps trailer line at 46 inches, and it still holds the approach angle to 5.5 degrees. It lifts 4 inches, which is usually all the difference a tilt trailer or a low deck height needs.

The trailer end is notched 5 inches long by 2 inches high so it sits down over the edge of a trailer door or ramp gate instead of resting on top of it. That drops the whole ramp lower and takes another degree or so out of the climb.

Sold as a pair. 1,500 lbs per ramp, 3,000 lbs per pair, for tires up to 12 inches wide. Compare the rest of the trailer ramps.

Race Ramps RR-TR-4 pair of 4 inch trailer ramps

Benefits of the RR-TR-4

Shortest ramp, shallow angle
Forty six inches of ramp for four inches of rise works out to 5.5 degrees. Most steel ramps in that length are twice as steep, which is exactly when a front lip catches.
Notched to sit on the door
The 5 by 2 inch notch drops over a trailer door or gate edge rather than perching on it. Lower starting point, less angle, and the ramp stays put once the tire loads it.
Six pounds each
Light enough to carry both at once and set them by hand at the trailer. No lifting a steel ramp onto a gate by yourself, and nothing to drop on a rocker panel.
Solid foam all the way through
There is no frame, no hinge and no welds. Expanded foam carries the load in compression, so the ramp cannot bend, rust or gouge a trailer floor or a driveway.
Traction coating that grips
The whole surface is coated, so a tire finds grip on a wet driveway and the ramp itself does not skate forward as the car loads it. Sweep the contact patch first and it stays where you set it.
Made in the USA
Race Ramps builds these in Michigan and backs them with a one year warranty against defects, plus a 30 day satisfaction guarantee through Pitstop Pro.

RR-TR-4 Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know 4 inches is enough?

Measure from the ground to the top edge of your trailer deck or the hinge point of the tilt, then subtract the height of the ramp gate when it is down. Whatever gap is left is what the ramp has to bridge. If that number is closer to 5 or 6 inches, step up to the RR-TR-5 or RR-TR-6.

What does the notch actually do?

The end of the ramp is cut away 5 inches back and 2 inches up, so the ramp hangs over the trailer door edge rather than stacking on top of it. The whole ramp starts 2 inches lower, which flattens the approach and gives the front of the car more ground clearance at the transition.

Will foam really hold my car?

Each ramp is rated for 1,500 lbs, so a pair under one axle handles 3,000 lbs and a full set of four handles 6,000 lbs. The rating is per ramp, not per car, so what matters is the weight on the heaviest single wheel.

My tires are wider than 12 inches.

The deck is 14 inches wide and rated for tires up to 12 inches. A wider tire overhangs the coated surface and loads the edge of the ramp, which is not what it is built for. The RR-TR-8 uses a 16 inch deck and takes tires up to 14 inches.

Can I leave them outside?

They will not rust and they do not absorb water, but long term sun exposure is hard on the coating like it is on any painted surface. Store them out of direct sunlight when you can and they will last considerably longer.
