Two Steps to the Trailer Floor, in 24 or 36 Inch Widths

A single step to a trailer deck is a long stride, and you make it a hundred times a weekend carrying tires, fuel jugs, and a toolbox. The stride is what gets people, not the height.

The Two Step splits 15.5" into two 7.75" stairs, each with an 11.5" tread. That is a normal staircase rise, so you walk up with your hands full instead of hauling yourself up.

Choose 24" wide for one person moving quickly, or 36" wide when two people pass each other or you carry something bulky. Both are 23" deep, both rated 1,500 lbs, and both have molded hand holds.

Sold individually. The 24" weighs 25 lbs and the 36" weighs 27 lbs. For a single stair instead of two, see the rest of the trailer steps.

Race Ramps two step trailer step

Benefits of the Two Step

A rise your legs already know
7.75 inches is house staircase height. You climb it without thinking about it, which matters at the end of a race weekend far more than it does at the start.
Two widths for two situations
24 inches keeps the footprint tight beside the trailer. 36 inches lets two people pass, or one person carry a wheel and tire without turning sideways on the tread.
25 to 27 lbs, not 60
An aluminum or steel two step of this size is a two person lift. This one comes out of the trailer under one arm and goes back the same way, which is why it actually gets used.
Nothing to fold or trap a finger
One solid piece with no hinges, latches, or legs to set. Drop it at the trailer door and it is ready, in the dark, in the rain, without a second thought.
Grip on wet grass and gravel
The traction coating works on the surface a step actually lives on at a track, which is rarely clean concrete. It also will not skate across a polished trailer floor.
Will not damage the trailer
Foam against an aluminum threshold does not chip, gouge, or leave a rust stain, and there is no metal frame to bang into a rocker panel. Made in the USA with a one year warranty.

Two Step Frequently Asked Questions

Which width should I buy?

Measure your trailer door. If it is a standard side door and one person uses it at a time, 24 inches is enough and takes less space. If it is a wide door, or two people work out of it, or you carry wheels and tires through it, the 36 inch is worth the difference.

Is 15.5 inches tall enough for my trailer?

Measure from the ground to your door threshold. If it is close to 15.5 inches, this is the right step. Considerably taller, and you want a single tall step instead. Tell us the measurement and we will point you at the right one.

Is one enough or do I need two?

One per door. Most people buy one for the trailer side door. Add a second if you also work out of the rear ramp door or run a second trailer.

Will it sink into grass or gravel?

The base is broad, 23 inches deep across the full width, so the load spreads out rather than digging in. On soft ground it settles a little and stops, unlike a narrow metal frame that keeps going.

Can I leave it outside?

It handles rain and does not rust, but the coating lasts longer out of constant sun and weather. Most people store it in the trailer, which is easy at 25 to 27 lbs.
