Wheels Free on a 24,000 lb Rack: the Daytona RAJ12 12,000 lb Rolling Bridge Jack

A four post lift holds a vehicle by its own wheels. That is exactly what you want for an alignment, and exactly what you do not want the moment the job turns into a brake rotor, a wheel bearing, or a tire. Without a rolling jack the vehicle comes off the rack and the bay stops earning.

The Daytona RAJ12 is the jack Daytona builds for the LFPA24. It rolls along the runways, spans the gap, and lifts 12,000 lbs clear of the deck so an axle can come off the ground while the rack stays where it is. Frame width adjusts from 35.4" to 63.0" to match the LFPA24's jack rails exactly.

It is air powered, so there is no electrical hookup to run, and a mechanical safety lock engages at the 20.0" working height. Collapsed it sits at 8.3", low enough to roll under a vehicle already on the rack rather than making you plan around it.

Most alignment shops end up buying two. One jack does one axle at a time. If you regularly need both ends free, order a pair, and order them with the rack so they arrive together. Call a Pitstop Pro lift specialist to spec it. Browse every rolling bridge jack, see all alignment lifts, or view the full Daytona lineup.

Benefits of the Daytona RAJ12

Turns an alignment rack into a service bay
Brakes, bearings, tires, and suspension all become possible without taking the vehicle off the lift. On a rack that costs what an LFPA24 costs, that is the difference between one job and three.
12,000 lbs, which is the point
The LFPA24 exists to hold box trucks, shuttle buses, and medium duty chassis. A light rolling jack would undo that. This one lifts half the rack's rated capacity on a single axle.
Air powered, nothing to wire
Runs off shop air. No electrical hookup, no dedicated circuit, no electrician, and nothing trailing a cord across a bay that already has a vehicle in it.
Mechanical lock at working height
The safety lock engages at 20.0" so the load rests on steel rather than on air pressure while a technician has their hands inside a wheel well.
8.3" collapsed, rolls under
Low enough to move into position beneath a vehicle already sitting on the runways, so you are not planning the whole job around where the jack has to start.

Key Features of the Daytona RAJ12

12,000 lb capacity: A reinforced scissor mechanism raising evenly on both sides, engineered around the loads an LFPA24 is bought to carry.

Adjustable frame, 35.4" to 63.0": Matches the LFPA24 jack rail range exactly, so the jack sets to your runway spacing rather than dictating it.

8.3" collapsed, 20.0" on the lock: The stamped drawing gives a saddle travel of 9.1" to 21.7", extending to 24.4" with the pad adapters fitted. Daytona publishes 8.3" and 20.0" as the working figures.

Air operation: Pneumatic, with no electrical connection required. Any normal shop compressor runs it.

Base adjusts 40.6" to 45.3": The rolling frame extends to suit the runway rails, and the 4.7" rollers carry it along the deck under load.

Sold individually: One jack lifts one axle. Order the quantity your shop actually works with rather than a fixed pair.

Daytona RAJ12 Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need one or two?

One jack lifts one axle. A single unit covers most brake and tire work, because you rarely need all four wheels off at once. Buy two if you routinely do four wheel jobs, suspension work at both ends, or want to keep the bay moving without repositioning. Two is the common configuration in a dedicated alignment shop.

Will it fit my lift?

The RAJ12 is built for the LFPA24. Its 35.4" to 63.0" frame adjustment matches that rack's jack rails. Daytona builds the RAJ8 for the 12,000 and 14,000 lb alignment lifts and the RAJ5 for the parking lifts, so match the jack to the rack rather than to the vehicle. Call us with your model number if you are unsure.

Why is a 12,000 lb jack right for a 24,000 lb lift?

Because a rolling jack lifts one axle, not the whole vehicle. Half the rack's rated capacity is the correct match, and it means the jack is not the weak link when a loaded medium duty chassis is on the runways.

What air supply does it need?

Ordinary shop air. There is no electrical connection at all, which is part of why a rolling jack is easy to add to an existing rack. If your bay has a compressor and a drop near the lift, you have what it needs.

Can I add it to a rack I already own?

Yes. A rolling jack is not an installed accessory, it sits on the runways and rolls into position. There is nothing to bolt down and nothing to wire, so adding one later is straightforward. Ordering with the lift only saves you a second freight charge.

How does delivery work?

It ships as freight in a 42" x 25" x 10" crate weighing 450 lbs. Compact but dense, so a pallet jack and a level approach usually handles it. If it is going out with a lift, we can coordinate both onto the same delivery.
