A standard Daytona LTPA10 stands 141.6" to the top of the overhead bar. That clears almost everything a general repair bay sees, right up until a high-roof cargo van, a lifted diesel with a light bar, or a service body rolls in and the shutoff bar is the thing in the way. At that point the vehicle either does not go up or it goes up and you spend the job worried about the roof.
The LTPA10-EXT is the factory answer. It adds two feet of column height, taking the lift to 168" overall as published by Daytona, and it ships with the column extensions and the longer equalization cables the taller configuration needs. This is not a spacer kit. The cables are matched to the new travel so the equalization system works exactly as it did at standard height.
Fit it at installation and the extra height costs you nothing in labor, since the columns are already coming apart. Retrofitting later is entirely doable, it just means dropping the lift and re-running the cables. If your ceiling is 14'-6" or better and tall vehicles are anywhere in your mix, buying it with the lift is the cheaper decision.

LTPA10-EXT Frequently Asked Questions
Do I actually need this kit?
Only if you service tall vehicles and have the ceiling to support them. A standard LTPA10 clears typical cars, pickups, and SUVs comfortably at 141.6" overall. You want the kit when high-roof cargo vans, box trucks, lifted diesels, or service bodies are part of your regular work and your bay ceiling is 14'-6" or better. If your ceiling is under that, the kit will not fit and the standard lift is the right call.
Does the kit raise how high the vehicle goes?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about extension kits. Maximum lifting height stays at 70.9" because the carriages, arms, and cylinders are unchanged. What the kit raises is the overhead bar and the top of the columns, which is about clearing the roof of a tall vehicle, not lifting it higher.
Can I add it later, after the lift is installed?
Yes. It is a retrofit-capable kit. The practical catch is labor: the lift has to come down, the columns open up, and the equalization cables get re-run and re-tensioned. That is a second service visit you would not pay for if the kit went on during the original install. If tall vehicles are even a maybe in your future, buying it up front is the cheaper path.
Does it interfere with the adjustable width settings?
No. The LTPA10 offers three column spacings and the extension kit raises the columns without touching that adjustment. Drive-thru clearance stays 89.4", 95.3", or 101.2" depending on the setting, exactly as on the standard lift.
Will this fit my other Daytona two post lift?
No. This kit is specific to the LTPA10. Daytona builds separate two-foot kits for the LTPA12 and the BR10-2OH-33, because the column sections and cable lengths differ between models. Note that the LTPO15 already includes its height kit as standard equipment. Call us with your model number and we will point you at the right part.
Does the concrete requirement change?
The slab requirement for the LTPA10 is unchanged by the kit: a minimum of 8" of 3,000 PSI concrete, level within 3/8" across the installation area, with no anchor within 6" of a crack, edge, or expansion joint. A taller column does place more leverage on the anchors, so a slab that was marginal at standard height is a poor candidate for the extended configuration.
