A two post lift gives you full working height but puts four column feet in the middle of your bay and a crossbar over the roof. A mid rise scissor keeps the floor clear but never gets the car high enough to stand under. The high rise scissor is the answer to wanting both.
The Daytona LHS7 lifts 6,600 lbs to a 74.5" maximum height, with the top mechanical lock at 71.0". That is genuine standing room for most technicians. When it comes down it collapses to a 4.5" profile, so the bay reverts to open floor and low cars still drive over it.
It runs a double hydraulic equalizing system so both platforms rise together, held by pneumatic safety locks that engage at multiple working heights. Full travel takes about one minute on 240V single phase at 3 HP. The platforms are width adjustable from 29.5" to 31.5" between them, and the approach ramps double as platform extensions, taking each runway from 59" to 83" long.

*The Daytona manual specifies a minimum concrete thickness of 150 mm, which is 5.9", so plan on a 6" slab. It also requires the floor to be level within 5 mm across the length of the lift and calls for a fully cured slab before anchors are set. Where the floor is thinner than 150 mm, the manual requires footings to be poured at the platform ends. Installing on inadequate concrete may result in serious injury or death. It is the customer's responsibility to verify concrete thickness and strength prior to purchase and installation.

Can I stand under it?
Yes, for most people. Maximum height is 74.5" with the top lock at 71.0", which is standing room for a technician under six feet and close to it for anyone taller. That is the difference between this and the LMS6 mid rise, which tops out around 54" and is a seated or bent over working height.
How does this compare to a two post lift?
You get similar working height with nothing overhead and nothing standing beside the doors, and the bay reverts to clear floor when the lift is down. What you give up is access to the center underside, because the platforms sit under the wheels rather than the frame, and wheels-free work is not possible without additional equipment. For tires, brakes, exhaust, and general service it is excellent. For transmission and driveline work a two post is still the right tool.
Does it have to be bolted down?
Yes. Unlike the portable LMS6 mid rise, the LHS7 is anchored. The manual calls for a minimum 150 mm slab, which is 5.9", so plan on 6", with the floor level within 5 mm across the length of the lift and the concrete fully cured before anchors are set. If your floor is thinner than that, the manual requires footings poured at the platform ends.
Do I need an air compressor?
Yes. The safety locks are pneumatic, so shop air is required to release them for lowering. Any normal shop compressor handles it, but it does mean this lift is not a good fit for a garage with no air supply. If that is your situation, tell us and we will steer you elsewhere.
What power does it need?
240V single phase, 3 HP, 12 amps, 60Hz on a dedicated circuit. That is a step up from the 120V mid rise and does mean an electrician and a proper drop. Have the circuit confirmed and run before the installer arrives.
Will a long wheelbase vehicle fit?
Each platform is 59" on its own, extending to 83" with the approach ramps fitted as extensions. That covers most cars and light trucks. Capacity is the harder limit at 6,600 lbs, which rules out heavier three quarter and one ton pickups.
How does delivery work?
It ships as two crates: the lift at 67" x 26" x 17" and 1,700 lbs, and the pump at 20" x 15" x 43" and 200 lbs. The lift crate is compact but very dense, so a forklift rather than a pallet jack is the safe assumption. Talk to a lift specialist before ordering so the delivery is planned.
What is the warranty?
