About AMGO · Authorized Dealer

Our deepest commercial lift lineup, ALI-certified models included

AMGO Hydraulic Corporation is an American-owned lift company headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, supplying professional automotive lifts to shops, dealerships, and serious garages since 1992. AMGO designs and engineers the lineup in the U.S., manufactures it in Asia to its own specs, and stocks parts and provides support out of its Georgia HQ - so the lifts arrive at a value-tier price point with U.S.-based engineering, warranty, and aftermarket backing.

What makes AMGO the deepest commercial lineup in our catalog: five distinct lift categories from one brand. Two-post baseplate (BP-9 to BP-12) and overhead (OH-9, OH-10, OH-12, OH-12S, OH-15, OH-18) styles plus extra-tall and extra-wide variants (OHX-10, OHX-10H, BP-9X). 4-post storage and service lifts (407-P, 408-P/HP, 409-DP/DPX, 409-HP) from 7,000 to 9,000 lb, plus heavy-duty commercial 4-posts (PRO-12 through PRO-40E) up to 40,000 lb capacity. A full scissor lineup - low-rise (LR06, LR10), mid-rise (MRL09, MRP06), full-rise alignment scissors (AX-12, AX-12A, AX-16A, DX-12A), and flush-mount (XL-7, XL-9F). Single-post storage lifts (SL-7, SML-7, SPL-6). Even motorcycle and ATV lifts (MC-1200, MC-1200P).

Select models are ALI ETL Certified to ANSI/ALI ALCTV - the U.S. lift industry's third-party safety standard. The certified roster currently includes the OH-10 (10,000 lb super-asymmetric 2-post), OH-12S Heavy-Duty, OH-15, OH-18, BP-9, BP-9X, BP-10, and BP-12. For shops that require ALI compliance for insurance, fleet contracts, or municipal procurement, AMGO is the only value-tier brand in our catalog that fits.

AMGO Lift FAQs

The most common questions our lift specialists get about AMGO Hydraulics.

Are AMGO lifts any good?

Yes - AMGO is one of our top recommendations in the value-tier lift segment, and the only brand at that price point that carries ALI ETL Certified models. Build quality includes heavy-gauge welded steel columns, chrome-clad hydraulic cylinders, dual-point lock releases with audible engagement, single-point safety lock equalization, and pendant or stationary control boxes depending on model. The 5-year structural / 2-year parts / 1-year labor manufacturer warranty is the longest in our value-tier catalog.

Honest trade-offs: AMGO is a U.S.-owned company headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, but the lifts themselves are manufactured overseas to AMGO's spec - so if you specifically need a lift assembled on U.S. soil, look at our Atlas Platinum, iDEAL, or Launch lines instead. Read our full honest AMGO review.

Where are AMGO lifts made?

AMGO Hydraulic Corporation is an American-owned company headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, where it engineers the lineup, stocks parts, runs warranty and tech support, and ships from its U.S. warehouse. Manufacturing of the lifts themselves happens overseas (primarily Asia) at AMGO's contract production facilities - the same model used by most value-tier lift brands sold in North America.

This split - U.S. engineering and aftermarket support plus overseas manufacturing - is how AMGO delivers ALI-certified safety performance at a price point well below fully-domestic lifts. For more on the manufacturing question, see our guide: Imported vs. USA-Made Lifts.

Are AMGO lifts ALI certified?

Yes - select AMGO models are ALI ETL Certified to ANSI/ALI ALCTV, the U.S. lift industry's third-party safety standard. The certified models currently include the OH-10 (10,000 lb super-asymmetric 2-post), OH-12S Heavy-Duty, OH-15, OH-18, and the BP-9, BP-9X, BP-10, and BP-12 baseplate 2-posts. Each ALI-certified lift carries the gold ETL Listed label on the column.

If your shop, insurance carrier, fleet contract, or municipal procurement office requires ALI compliance, AMGO is the only value-tier brand in our catalog that fits the spec. Premium-tier ALI-certified options include Atlas Platinum, iDEAL, and BendPak. Learn more: ALI vs. CE certification.

Who makes AMGO lifts?

AMGO lifts are designed, engineered, warranted, and supported by AMGO Hydraulic Corporation, an American-owned company headquartered at 7390 Highway 20 W, Suite K-7, Norcross, GA 30093. The company has been in business since 1992 and is a member of the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) - the industry body responsible for the ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standard.

The lifts are assembled at AMGO-spec'd contract manufacturing facilities overseas. Warranty, parts, technical support, and certified lift inspections (PALCI/ALI) are all handled by the AMGO HQ team in Georgia.

AMGO 4-post lift reviews: how do they hold up?

Across the 4-post lineup (407-P, 408-P, 408-HP, 409-DP/DPX, 409-HP, PRO-12 through PRO-40), the most common feedback themes we hear: smooth and quiet hydraulics, audible multi-position locks that engage reliably, diamond-plate or perforated runways that grip tires well, and assembly that takes a full day with one helper but is straightforward if you follow the manual. The 407-P specifically gets praise for being the best home-garage 4-post value in the market.

For the commercial PRO series (PRO-12, PRO-14, PRO-18, PRO-30, PRO-40), shops report years of daily use without major issues, with hydraulic seal kits being the most common eventual service item. For full ownership impressions, see our honest AMGO lift review.

AMGO 2-post lift reviews: what's the verdict?

The AMGO 2-post lineup splits into baseplate (BP series - cables routed under a low base) and overhead (OH series - cables routed through an overhead bar). Common feedback: solid column construction with no flex under load, smooth hydraulic operation, reliable lock engagement on both single-point and dual-point lock systems, and super-asymmetric arm geometry on the OH-10 and OHX-10 that makes door clearance easier than symmetric designs.

Note before you buy: most AMGO 2-posts need 11-12 ft of ceiling clearance for full lift height. The overhead models (OH series) need slightly more (typically 12-14 ft). Always measure before ordering. Read the full AMGO 2-post breakdown.

What's the warranty on an AMGO lift?

Every AMGO lift sold by Pitstop Pro comes with the full manufacturer warranty: 5 years structural (frame, columns, load-bearing components), 2 years parts (hydraulic cylinders, electrical, cable equalization), and 1 year labor on 2-post and 4-post lifts. We're an authorized AMGO dealer, so you get the actual factory coverage - not a watered-down third-party version. (Scissor, motorcycle, and storage lift warranty terms vary by model - check the individual product page.)

You also get our lifetime phone support at (470) 208-2754 for install help, troubleshooting, or parts questions, regardless of how long you've owned the lift.

How does AMGO compare to BendPak, Katool, Triumph, or Atlas?

Five positions in the lift market: AMGO is the deepest value-tier catalog with ALI ETL Certified models - the only brand at that price point with third-party safety certification, plus the longest warranty (5/2/1). Katool hits the lowest price-per-feature ratio with a focused 2-post and 4-post lineup (3-year structural, no ALI cert). Triumph offers the broadest variety of lift styles and capacities at value pricing with a 1-year warranty (no ALI cert). BendPak/Rotary sit at the premium tier with ALI certification, multi-year warranties, and longer brand heritage. Atlas Platinum, iDEAL, and Launch are premium ALI-certified alternatives in our catalog.

What size AMGO lift do I need?

Take the curb weight of your heaviest vehicle and add a 25% safety margin. 2-post: BP-9 (9,000 lb) for cars and light trucks. OH-10 ALI Certified (10,000 lb super-asymmetric) for most full-size trucks - our flagship pick. OH-12 / OH-12S (12,000 lb) for half-ton and 3/4-ton trucks. OH-15 (15,000 lb) for 1-ton trucks and fleet vehicles. OH-18 (18,000 lb) for the heaviest commercial 2-post duty.

4-post: 407-P (7,000 lb) and 408-P (8,000 lb) cover home-garage storage and service. PRO-12 (12,000 lb) handles commercial half-ton work. PRO-14 (14,000 lb) covers 3/4-ton trucks. PRO-18 (18,000 lb) for 1-ton trucks. The commercial heavy-duty PRO-30 and PRO-40 (30,000-40,000 lb) handle medium-duty trucks, RVs, and box trucks.

For the full sizing breakdown, run our Lift Finder or read Understanding Lift Weight Ratings.

What ceiling height do I need for an AMGO lift?

Most AMGO baseplate 2-posts (BP series) need 11-12 ft of ceiling clearance for full lift height. Overhead 2-posts (OH series) need 12-14 ft because the overhead bar adds height to the lift envelope. Extra-tall variants (OHX-10H) need closer to 13-14 ft. AMGO 4-posts vary in their own footprint from roughly 7-9 ft tall depending on model (the 407-P, 408-P, 409-HP are shorter; the PRO commercial series is taller).

Always measure the tallest vehicle you will lift and add 6-12 inches of working clearance on top of the lift's full-up height. See our low-ceiling lift guide if your space is tight.

Can I install an AMGO lift myself?

Yes - many of our customers do. The work is straightforward but heavy. Plan on at least one capable helper, an engine hoist or forklift to stand the columns, and a torque wrench for the anchor bolts. Concrete and electrical work are best hired out separately. AMGO 4-posts (the 407-P, 408-P, 409-series) are easier than 2-posts because they don't require concrete anchoring (optional caster kits let you position freestanding). 2-post AMGO lifts must be anchored into 4-6 inches of reinforced concrete depending on capacity - the manual specifies the exact spec per model.

Don't want to install it yourself? Submit your address and we'll send you a list of qualified local AMGO installers within one business day.

Do you stock AMGO replacement parts?

Yes - we keep AMGO replacement parts (hydraulic seal kits, safety lock pins, equalization cables, control valves, motors, arm pads, runway accessories) stocked in our U.S. warehouses, and AMGO HQ in Norcross, GA stocks the deeper parts catalog. When something needs replacing, you call (470) 208-2754 and we either ship from our domestic inventory or coordinate directly with AMGO - no waiting weeks for a container from overseas.
